The Anthropology Department is fortunate to have an exceptional group of staff that works tirelessly to promote undergraduate engagement, maintain an impressive human and animal bone collection, maximize graduate student support, and devise innovative business processes.
Meanwhile, our highly productive faculty members are at the forefront of research innovation and have won awards for their exceptional teaching from the Society of Medical Anthropology, the Society for Historical Archaeology, and units across UC Santa Cruz. Our graduate students are creative and accomplished researchers in their own right, who win prestigious grants and fellowships from organizations like the National Science Foundation.
